Is Technology Good or Bad?

Our world has become increasingly dependent on technology, and while it definitely allows us to produce better products, do you think there is a time where we have "too much" technology? If so, do you think we have hit that point? I have to admit: I think the human race was only supposed to reach a certain level of technological advancement, and I think we have surpassed it. Technology was so cool when we were kids and iPods and proper GPS where it tells you where to turn and instant messaging and YouTube just became normal things. Not to mention the graphics upgrade when the XBOX 360 dropped was insane. I think every kid has a similar memory of playing a game on XBOX or PS3 and being like "Wow LeBron looks so realistic." The technological revolution I am speaking about that causes debate is the growth of AI, robots, big companies using psychological tactics to keep you addicted to your phone.... you know, all the stuff they mention in apocalyptic movies. These are the things that lead me to believe we were only supposed to have baseline technological advancements that improve communication. However, some of this stuff is incredibly exciting and, if used properly, can literally save lives and better our world. As I sit at my computer and bash technology (ironic), I wonder about what my generation would look like if we didn't have access to all of this stuff. Every generation differs from the next, even if their technological developments are relatively the same. I think my generation was the first one to have these resources at our fingertips 24/7 and have the ability to grow with these advancements. Would we be happier people if we didn't have this technology? Or would we become bored and crave something new until we all lost our minds?
